Hi everyone,
We just got back from Cape Cod. Stayed at a friend's cozy beach cottage for five wonderful days. It was my first visit and I am still under a spell. We had light rain for two days, then... sunshine! It was warm enough for us to take off our shoes and walk along the beach enjoying the company of hundreds of seagulls. We walked, took rides, ate great food, did a bit of shopping, visited museums, then we'd rush home before nightfall to watch the most incredible sunsets ever! At night we'd light the fire (yes, there was a REAL fireplace!) and enjoyed a nice glass of wine. Perfect endings to perfect days!
Places we visited:
1- Orleans
2- Sandwhich
3- Chatham
4- Provincetown
Special restaurants:
1- The Painted Lady (Sandwhich)
2- Chatham Bars Inn (Chatham)
Special memories:
1- Watching the seals be fed by the fishermen at the end of their day as they returned to shore. Priceless!
It will take sometime for me to stop longing to see those wonderful sights...
Cape Cod! What a magical place! I still remember the relaxing times we've had walking along the water at Skaket Beach in Orleans. There's no place like it in the world when the sun goes down. The ocean breeze, the quietness of the place, a bottle of wine, and good friends with whom to share the experience all add to the wonder of the place.
ReplyDeleteWe found a truly wonderful condo that we stay at twice yearly on a private beach in Skaket by going online at www.capecodwaterfront.com
For a great start to your day try The Hearth & Kettle for breakfast. It's just 5 minutes from this place.
Golfers will enjoy the Captain's Course in Brewster, and if you like theater, the Cape Rep also in Brewster has great performances throughout the year is only a 10 minute car ride away.
Oh my! I can't wait till next year! Thanks for the memories.
Glad to have brought back happy memories :)
